Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting software, websites, and personal data from malicious "hackers." Cybersecurity experts need to utilize a broad range of tools like Wireshark (for analyzing network traffic) and OphCrack (for cracking passwords). Students will learn major concepts, like how networks are built and how they communicate, as well as the little things, like coding and the basics of hardware. Even if you don't plan on working in the rapidly expanding field of Cybersecurity, it is still important to learn basic practices to keep your own data safe.
Computer science is the study of computers and computational systems. Computer scientists use technology to solve problems and write software to make computers accomplish tasks more efficiently. They create applications for mobile devices, program software, develop software, use artificial intelligence (AI), and more.
Biology is the study of life. It has an immense number of applications and branches like zoology (the study of animals), neuroscience (the study of the brain), botany (the study of plants), and so many more! It is an incredibly exciting and fun field, with new questions being asked and discoveries being made every day. Our biology programs include a lab with every course, so that you can experience immersive research and discovery hands-on.
