Applied Health Science

Course Overview:
On the first day of Applied Health Science your students learned the basics of sleep from dreams to disorders. They learned the answers to various questions such as: What are the functions of the brain in our sleep? Do animals sleep? Who is the man that didn't sleep? and more! They have classified disorders and named what parts of the brain are responsible.

On the second day of the course, students learned about the chemistry of food and the purpose of different kinds of molecules. In addition, they learned ways to apply their knowledge in order to make healthy food choices, including how to read a nutrition label. Finally, we covered different types of diets and finish with some easy, fun recipes!
